The facility is spread across 150 acre and has a built-up area of 101 acre. It is equipped with high-efficiency solar cell technology. The company said it will also create 9,500 direct jobs and around 30,000 indirect employment opportunities.
“Waaree’s commitment to indigenous manufacturing aligns perfectly with our national vision of establishing India as a global manufacturing hub fr clean energy technologies,” Pralhad Joshi, the minister of new and renewable energy, said.
The company’s chairman and MD Hitesh Doshi said every solar cell manufactured at the facility carries the DNA of the nation’s aspiration – a dream of technological supremacy, economic self-determination and global leadership.
Waaree Energies ended the previous trade session 1.18% lower at ₹2,405.8 apiece on the BSE.
