RITES bags ₹45 crore project management contract for Muriganga bridge in West Bengal


Transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering firm, RITES Ltd</a>, on Saturday (March 7) said it has secured a ₹45.19 crore consultancy contract from the Public Works (Roads) Directorate, Government of West Bengal, for project management services related to the construction of a proposed four-lane extra-dosed bridge over the Muriganga river.

The order involves consultancy services as Project Management Consultant for the construction of the bridge, including approach roads connecting Kachuberia on Sagar Island with Kakdwip in the South 24 Parganas district.

Under the contract, RITES will undertake the entire design and construction supervision in the role of Authority Engineer for the project. The order has been awarded by a domestic entity, and the project is to be executed over a period of 48 months. The total value of the contract stands at ₹45.19 crore, excluding GST.

The transaction is between the Government of West Bengal and the government-owned company. The company said the promoter, promoter group or group companies do not have any interest in the awarding entity.

Yesterday, RITES received revised estimates from South Western Railway for the railway electrification work of the Mysuru–Hassan–Mangaluru project, including the Hassan–Arsikere section, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The work has been awarded on a cost-plus turnkey basis and pertains to the electrification of the Mysuru–Hassan–Mangaluru line, including Hassan–Arsikere. The revised project cost for the order stands at ₹729.28 crore, excluding GST, including RITES fees.

Shares of RITES Ltd ended at ₹207.00, up by ₹5.20, or 2.58%, on the BSE.
