Reliance Consumer forays into healthy functional beverages with Naturedge JV


Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL) on Monday announced its entry into the healthy functional beverage category with a majority stake acquisition in a joint venture with Naturedge Beverages.

The move strengthens RCPL’s vision of building a “total beverage company” by adding health-focused, herbal-natural offerings to its expanding portfolio, the company said.

Naturedge Beverages, founded in 2018 by Siddhesh Sharma of the Baidyanath Group, is known for its flagship brand Shunya, a zero-calorie, zero-sugar functional drink infused with Ayurvedic herbs such as Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Khus, Kokum and Green Tea.

RCPL said the JV will help scale Shunya across India through its vast distribution network.

Ketan Mody, Executive Director, RCPL, said the partnership strengthens its beverage portfolio by offering consumers health-driven alternatives. Sharma added that the collaboration will help position Shunya as a pan-India brand in line with rising consumer preference for herbal-natural functional beverages.

The addition of Naturedge complements RCPL’s earlier acquisitions of Campa, Raskik and launches like Campa Energy, as it seeks to transform India’s beverage experience.

Ahead of the announcement, Reliance Industries shares closed at ₹1,382.90, up 0.66% on the NSE.
