Indices end in the green but off highs, Nifty holds on to 23,800



Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex rose by 227 points, reaching 78,699, while the Nifty gained 63 points, closing at 23,813. Despite the overall positive sentiment, midcaps underperformed, with the midcap index falling 146 points to 56,980. In contrast, Nifty Bank gained 141 points to settle at 51,311.

Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The stock market closed in the green today, with Nifty holding onto 23,800. IndusInd Bank rose 2% after announcing the sale of ₹1,573 crore in microfinance loans. UltraTech Cement acquired a stake in Star Cement for ₹851 crore, though both stocks ended lower. Auto stocks gained ahead of monthly sales data, with the auto index up more than 1%.

Cochin Shipyard hit a 5% upper circuit on a ₹450 crore order from Adani Ports, while Gensol rose 6% following a ₹897 crore EPC order win from NTPC Renewable. SKF India gained 3% after approving a demerger scheme, while NHPC slipped on revised execution plans for the Teesta V project, expecting a ₹1,075 crore loss.

Religare Enterprises fell 6% after the Madhya Pradesh High Court stayed its AGM and RBI approval for its open offer. Max Estates surged 4% on ₹845 crore pre-bookings for its Noida project. Mamata Machinery debuted strongly, up nearly 160%, with DAM Capital, Transrail, Sanathan Textiles, and Concord Environment also showing strong debut gains.
