HCL Technologies has announced its participation in Microsoft’s Discovery platform, an advanced agentic AI platform designed to accelerate scientific research and innovation across multiple domains.
Through this collaboration, HCL Technologies will work with Microsoft to drive breakthroughs in areas such as chemistry, materials science, drug discovery and semiconductor design. The partnership places HCL among a select group of technology companies and research institutions contributing to next-generation scientific and engineering solutions.
As part of the engagement, HCL Technologies will undertake deep technical integration and collaborative development initiatives with Microsoft’s Discovery team. This includes technical onboarding sessions aimed at ensuring alignment, seamless integration and effective collaboration between the two organisations.

Following the onboarding phase, HCL will participate in research-driven projects focused on critical scientific challenges. Leveraging its domain expertise across industries, the company aims to apply the platform to accelerate innovation and improve research outcomes for enterprise clients.
The collaboration will focus on applications spanning chemistry and materials science, pharmaceutical research and drug discovery, semiconductor development, large-scale data processing, simulation and automated workflow optimisation.
Microsoft’s Discovery Platform offers advanced AI-driven capabilities to support complex research and development efforts. HCL Technologies’ involvement is expected to extend these capabilities to enterprise-scale implementations, helping organisations shorten innovation cycles and bring scientific advancements to market faster.
Shares of HCLTech ended the day at ₹1,678.90, up ₹8.90 or 0.53%, on the BSE on December 23.
