Bajel Projects secures ultra-mega power transmission order from PowerGrid Corporation of India


Bajel Projects Limited has secured a major power transmission order from PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), acting through its special purpose vehicle MEL Power Transmission Limited. The order falls under the company’s “Ultra-Mega” category, indicating a value of ₹400 crore or above (inclusive of GST).

The contract involves the construction of a 400 kV double-circuit (D/c) transmission line, spanning approximately 138 km, linking Mahan to Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. It also includes extension works at the 400 kV Rewa substation, forming part of the infrastructure to evacuate power from the Mahan Energen Limited Generating Station.

Classified as an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project, the order is to be executed within 29 months from the date of award.

The shares of the company ended 0.3% on Friday, June 20. The stock has declined by approximately 27% in the year so far.
